Just launched to the world couple of hours ago.. Its the most anticipated piece of technology every Dj has been waiting for brought to you by none other than Pioneer

Behold the new Pioneer CDJ 2000

And the CDJ 900

NEW PIONEER CDJ DIGITAL TURNTABLES BRING THE ART OF DJING TO NEW HEIGHTS NEW PIONEER CDJ DIGITAL TURNTABLES BRING THE ART OF DJING TO NEW HEIGHTS
CDJ-2000 and CDJ-900 Enable DJs to Access Their Music Directly from the Players

Long Beach, CA (September 17, 2009) – Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. Professional Sound and Visual Division, the leader in Pro DJ products and the innovator of the CD turntable, today launched two multi-format digital turntables, the CDJ-2000 and CDJ-900, with features that put the performance back into the art of DJing and reduce the need for laptops to access music files. DJs of all experience levels can enhance their mixing and scratching capabilities using proprietary technologies such as rekordbox™1 music management, Pro DJ Link, Needle Search and USB and SD card connectivity.

“Understanding the expanding needs of today’s evolving DJs, Pioneer’s new multi-format digital turntables allow DJs to access, search and control their content directly from the player itself,” said Matt Dever, Vice President, Professional Sound and Visual Division. “The new CDJ players provide the same legendary quality standards and playability of the CDJ-1000/800 with the added convenience of native playback of key digital media file formats accessed through a multitude of compatible media, whether it’s on CD, DVD, portable hard drive or flash memory device. In addition, both models are HID compatible with today’s top DJ performance software, making these players the natural selection for any performance DJ.”

Prepared For Any Performance
Adapting to today’s variety of media formats, the CDJ-2000 and CDJ-900 enable playback of MP3, AAC, WAV and AIFF audio files from CDs and USB memory devices, and from DVDs and SD cards as well on the CDJ-2000. A USB port located on top of the turntable enables users to quickly connect an external storage device such as a Tonium Pacemaker™ or a hard drive packed with music files, minimizing the need to bring a laptop computer to performances.

Both the CDJ-2000 and CDJ-900 turntables include rekordbox™, Pioneer’s proprietary music management software that organizes and catalogs a DJ’s entire music library. When music files are imported to rekordbox, the software analyzes each file and prepares them for use specifically with the new CDJ turntables. Key elements of Pioneer’s rekordbox software:

Analyze:

  • Beats Per Minute (BPM) Data – BPM / Tempo information for each song is identified and processed into rekordbox for use by the DJ in preparing and performing a set.

  • Waveform Data – The waveform of each song is identified and then displayed on the bottom screen for quick data visualization and for use with the needle search function on the CDJ-2000 turntable.

Customize:

  • Tag Info & Artwork – Edit and customize the file information to performance needs.

  • Hot Cues, Cue Points, and Loops – Prepare and customize cues and loops as well as create and manage hot cue banks.

  • Playlists – Create, edit and manage customized playlists for various performances.

  • Beatgrid – Utilizing the new Quantizing feature, cue points and loops can be set perfectly on-beat. The Quantize feature ensures cue points are set accurately and automatically, correcting and synching beats during manual looping or a real-time cueing, preventing off beat mistakes.

Users can then transfer analyzed music files to their preferred storage media and play them directly from the new CDJ turntables. The software offers song information that can be viewed easily during performances on the CDJs’ large displays to quickly search and access content by genre, title, BPM, etc. Also, as analyzed tracks are played through the CDJ products, the turntables automatically create and save a play history enabling users to review past performances on their PCs.

Pro DJ Link
The new turntables feature Pioneer’s Pro DJ Link that enables up to four CDJ-2000/900s to be connected via the Link Port to share a single music source, whether it is a hard drive, USB and/or SD memory card. Once linked, users have the ability to quickly find, display and choose the music file from a connected source through the CDJ’s built-in display and control knobs. A quick turn of the knob lets users scroll through created files and folders and a push of the knob confirms the song choice.

Advanced Connectivity
The new turntables feature a 24-bit/48 kHz sound card and HID and MIDI control compatibility via USB port. Up to 35 controls on the surface of each player can be used to trigger other devices, such as DJ effecters and software by way of HID and/or MIDI.

The HID controls were implemented into the players for superior interfacing with software, faster communication speed over MIDI, audio/visual streaming and two-way information on displays. HID enables easy, precise and native control of DVS systems such as Serato™ Scratch Live, Native Instruments’ Traktor series and MixVibes Cross2 without the need for time-coded discs.

CDJ-2000 Enhancements

  • LCD panel and Graphic User Interface – The flagship CDJ-2000 features a large WQVGA 6.1-inch full-color 480 x 234 LCD panel for displaying song titles and jacket art as well as detailed track information so DJs can select songs at a glance. The wave data of each song is also illustrated on screen, showing high and low amplitude to further assist DJs.

  • Needle Search – Helps DJs instantaneously get to a specific part of a song with a simple touch of the Needle Search pad. Found directly below the CDJ-2000’s high resolution LCD panel, the touchpad lets the DJ “place the needle” and jump quickly to a specific part of a music track.

  • Jog Dial – Adjustments for tension were enhanced from previous models allowing the DJ to further customize the feel of the jog dial from a light to heavy sensitivity. Four illuminated areas on the sides of the Jog Dial aid the DJ in finding the desired spot on the plate in dim lighting environments.

CDJ-900 Enhancements

  • Slip Mode – When activated, Slip Mode silently continues song playback during a loop, reverse or scratch and continues audible playback at the exact time when the loop, reverse or scratch is ended creating smoother transitions.

  • Advanced Auto Beat Loop – The CDJ-900 generates a four-beat loop at a touch of a button creating a customized sound to provide more time for DJs to blend in transitioning music.

The Extras
For more accurate tempo control while mixing, each player is enhanced with increased frame increments of 0.5 frames that allow the DJ to set a cue point or loop point with more precision.

To achieve the highest sound quality, both the CDJ-2000 and CDJ-900 were equipped with the audio industry’s highly respected Wolfson DAC processors, delivering a very transparent, accurate audio signal resulting in a highly improved signal-to-noise ratio and increased headroom.

The CDJ-2000 will be available in November 2009 with a suggested retail price of $2,150.
The CDJ-900 will be available in December 2009 with a suggested retail price of $1,600.

MOVE presents CEVIN FISHER

You know that tech house track which has this dude talking "You know the DJ saved my life... Gotta Thank God for the Music, Gotta Thank God for the Music......."

Yup, that dude is non other than Cevin Fisher. He's come a long way and he's finally here in KL. Huge producer with loads of hit tunes. An event not to be missed

Here's his bio for those of you who haven't got a clue..

Born in East Orange, New Jersey, Cevin Fisher has risen to become one of the World's most respected & prolific master house producers and DJ's who really broke-out on a global level in the mid-to-late 1990's.

Indeed there are very few major stars of the decks today who wouldn't namecheck him as a seminal influence on their own work, and he has rightfully taken his place amongst the elite of A-list international talent that continues to dominate & guide global dance culture & taste.

While still in his teens a growing passion for club music propelled Cevin into the heady circles that were living & breathing Prelude & West-End, garnering early support from Tony Humphries, legendary Godfather of the Jersey garage scene and its epicentre, Club Zanzibar.

Around the same time Cevin DJ'd at major all-night parties hosted by diva-of-the-moment Whitney Houston whenever he got the opportunity:

"When I lived in Jersey, Whitney had these HUGE parties", remembers Cevin. "It was my first real experience of partying through to the next day - you know, with everyone still dancing as the sun comes up! It was pretty wild!!!"

He picked up more gigs at loft parties and college one-offs before finally getting his first regular break as a warm-up for Zanzibar resident Larry Paterson on Friday nights.

After that, there was only really one place he could head for... NEW YORK CITY! He soon fell into production work for Timmy Regisford of Motown Records alongside future electro-Don & mainstream producer Arthur Baker at Shakedown Studios, where he delivered remixes for Chaka Khan's "Love You All My Lifetime" and Quincy Jones' "I'll Be Good To You", both of which subsequently went to number one on the US Billboard Dance Chart.

In a very short period during the early 1990's Cevin's distinct style scored recognition frequently in his home country, earning him a consistent reputation as a pioneer and innovator in the evolution of House music itself.

His progressive sound & innovative approach broke new ground within the industry, giving-up classic anthems like "Hands On Love" and "House Is A Feeling," both penned for New York independent label Hardtrax.

After these early successes Danny Tenaglia encouraged Cevin to pursue a recording career full-time, and he committed himself in earnest to production in the mid-'90s. Singles such as "The Way We Used To" and "Shine the Light" followed, earning him significant international clubplay, although it was 2000's "The Freaks Come Out" on the UK's Subversive label that pushed him into the mainstream house stratosphere.

Eventually licensed to at least five international labels, this single alone secured his reputation as one who had truly arrived, and in such deeply soulful style, with a focus always on strong & engaging vocal lines on his cuts. But the way that 'Freaks' really made its mark on the dance music industry is a story which has now transcended into cult legend...

The tales of WMC 2000 and Danny Tenaglia's Twisted America set at Groovejet are now beyond legendary - for those of us who were there those times came to define more than just a scene - we were gifted a unique shared moment of intense collective unity and oneness within a generation. That night on South Beach all those assembled freaks really DID come out to play. Danny spun ÔFreakso four times in his set, each time things becoming just that little bit crazier for the loved-up crowd - eyes met - smiles broadened - heads nodded and hot bodies grooved in time harder and faster and... at that moment EVERYONE new that they were witnessing something totally unique and way past the ordinary. AND WE LOVED IT!

Subversive had prepared and licensed 'You Got Me Burning Up!' out to Tommy Boy in New York and Ministry in London only 12 months before 'Freaks'. 'Burning Up!' had charted at No 2 in US Billboard Dance Chart, cementing Cevinos status at home and abroad and making him the focus of the burgeoning international party scene that rose-up at Groovejet - 'Freaks' then rocketed to the top spot on the US Billboard Club Chart shortly thereafter in 2000 and into the UK Top 20.

The rest, as they say, is history...

His time as an international DJ has infused Fisher with a dance sensibility like no other - he thrives on that instant-feedback buzz only a hot club can provide, always reflecting an inherent enthusiasm for fresh live sounds into his mixes, records & sets. Each song practically leaps from the turntable in an explosion of blips, beats, big vocals, deep house and well-timed prog rhythms.

After all that has been said of the man here, Cevin is still considered somewhat of an 'underground' artist - faithfully true to his roots yet ALWAYS with an eye on the horizon. His track 'Music Saved My Life' perhaps sums him up best - his fans clearly love him for that kind of dedication & passion. A groundbreaker who's true to his cause - and a cult legend.

In 2008 Cevin sees the revisit to his classic 'You Got Me Burning Up!' realised by a whole new generation of current and future dance megastars. A double-A remix testimonial to one of his biggest records is brought-home in two chapters by Raul Rincon, Prok & Fitch, Tim Davison, DJ Chus, Dean Coleman, Nyan Narine, Rubberman and Scott Lummes - the first pack out in July, the second in September.

His follow-up, titled 'The Cream Always Rises' - sure to cause a storm in November - has welcomed none other than Nick Bridges (Bodyrox) and Kid Massive aboard the King of Progressive Soul's train on the mixes this time 'round.

With a profile showcase at Amsterdam Dance Event in October, a 16-date European tour and an 8-date UK & Ireland leg on the cards, Cevin is back - and ready to take his journey on up to an entirely new level of international touring.

Spring 2009 also sees him circuiting the Pacific, taking-in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, China & Japan before hitting us all up again with a new slice of progressive perfection in April/May.

Cevin Fisher is currently holding residencies at Pacha NYC and Circa Toronto .

I've been Juiced

Last night was Juice Magazine 7th Year Anniversary and it was one mad party! I think the club was packed with more than 2000 crazy party people. They have come a long way over these 7 years. Happy Birthday JUICE. Good DJ's, good vibe and a rockin crowd. I was featured on JUICE online recently for an interview. Here's how it went. Cheers to Mira.. :))

Victor G Headlines JUICE Birthday Bash Tonight!!

One of the best DJs in the country, Victor G has been working it for 10 years. Living up to his name, Victor has earned his chops making JUICE DJ Quest’s first ever champ and is repeat offender at the Pioneer DJ Competition he’s even been banned from enterring. Cap that off with a position as ressie at Euphoria, Ministry of Sound and you know he is running with the big boys. To JUICE, Victor is family. That’s why we want you to familiarise. Here’s 13 things we bet you didnlt know about Victor G.

#1 When pals dreamt of becoming doctors and pilots, Victor G never really knew what he wanted to be growing up. The calling came when he started dabbling in music at house parties and high school proms.

#2 Victor G studied piano at age 7, but gave up at Grade 1. He even picked up guitar and did the whole ‘jam in the studio thing’ at one point. The man is musical….

#3 While at college Victor G’s parents were none to thrilled at their son’s penchant for deck; they wanted him to have a 9 to 5 job upon graduation but after he racked up a crazy amount of DJ competition wins they came around. In a show of familial support, Victor G’s parents have been spotted at his gigs, but not for very long. He’s too loud.

#4 Victor G is digging the day job where he gets to partake of the biz side of the industry. Besides spinning, he rolls up his sleeves and helps on Euphoria’s marketing and promotions.

#5 He is presently working on his own music and already has several singles out. Victor will soon be embarking on gigs to Australia and Indonesia. The latter is one of his favourite countries to play in for its vibe and beautiful people.

#6 Victor G doesn’t sing in the shower, but if he did he’d give Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ a crack. talk about ambition….

#7 One for the trainspotters: Victor G uses the Pioneer CDJ 1000mk3, DJM 800, Allen & Heath Xone4d, Serato Scratch Live, EFX 1000, Korg Kaosilator and his Macbook Pro when DJing. In the studio he uses a Macbook Pro, PC Desktop running on Logic Pro, Ableton, Reason with loads of plug ins and VSTis, M-Audio Firewire Audio Interface, Cambridge Soundcraft Monitors and an Edirol Pcr 50 Midi Keyboard. Phew!

#8 He could have been called DJ Yo Momma So Funky. Bullet dodge!

#9 If he only had 5 minutes left to live Victor G would like Clint Mansell’s ‘Dead Reckoning’ played.

#10 His motto is “There is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.”

#11 He loves extreme sports. That might explain why he fractured his foot 3 weeks ago and is temporary disabled. Victor’s still coming out to play at the JUICE party though. Trooper!

#12 Victor G hearts music, family and friends. Now you know this that means YOU!

#13 These are his thoughts on JUICE: “JUICE has gone into many different directions over these past years. I think it has gone very mainstream covering the indie and nu rave scene. Not saying that it’s bad but I think the underground house scene should get equal coverage.” We hear you, mate!

Catch Victor G at Move, every Friday nights at Euphoria, Ministry of Sound spinning house, minimal, prog, techno, and trance and TONIGHT at the JUICE Future So Bright Party. It starts at 9pm. Victor takes over at 1am.
